In my opinion, food services at Hyderabad campus are better than those at Mohali. May be this is because of the greater scale and variety of food available at Hyderabad. Some thoughts follow.
Hyderabad
Goyal's : The serving size at Goel's is generous. One plate of Dosa or Paratha means two pieces of decent size so exercise caution. The daily thali is the closest to ghar-ka-khana and generally good.
Subway & CCD: Standard stuff. Take your pick.
Spipz Juice Bar: Not all that you see on the menu is available but nevertheless, a good assortment.
Cafe: Standard bakery tastes great and high on calorie :J but the tea and coffee tend to get stale and not always good.
Cooks: Cooks for cooking and dish cleaning do come on campus and though I have not used their services the general wisdom is that they provide the most cost efficient service.
Mohali
Sarovar: This is more like a hotel. Limited menu. No ghar-ka-khana kind of feel. Portion sizes are small and costs are steep. Look and feel, cutlery, and infrastructure is much better than Hyderabad though.
CCD: Again it is standard. They are always short on change though.
Cafe: Very limited menu. All high calorie deep fried delicious stuff available here. Probably the coffee and lemonade are the most healthy eating options here.
Cooks: Cooks and maids visit the campus similar to Hyderabad. The institute seems to discourage cooks as they take the precious little business available to Sarovar.
